Snack Time
After a few false starts it seems that spring has finally arrived. So it's time to start exploring the city again with regular refuelling stops. Here This is the Georgian cheese plate at the Central Cafe on Erekle Street washed down with local beer. Just don't mention cholesterol.

Anchiskhati Church
A side view of the Anchiskhati church, the oldest in Tbilisi. The vine coiling around the railings echoes the vine symbol above the small door.

Green and Yellow
This is another building - a warehouse or workshop of some sort - that I had walked past many times and never really noticed. This day, the colour combination of the yellow and green together with the structural elements defined by the coloured elements and the framing provided by the bushes and trees all said 'photograph me!'

Lorry
I came across this lorry parked in an out of the way patch of ground while wandering around. I'm not sure what it was doing there or whether it still runs - the front tyre doesn't look too good. I'm not sure exactly why but it reminded me of a child's toy truck.

Playground
This is one of a number of little play areas that have been placed in Didi Digomi. Unfortunately, as you can see, the ground on which the swings and slides stand is in poor shape and a closer look would reveal all the cigarette butts and broken glass.

Through the Door
This shot is typical of many little side streets around the city with an exterior door giving way to a courtyard lined with drying laundry. I can't remember where exactly I took this except that I think it was in the Avlabari district.

0080
I added another three of these little sub-stations to my collection on a recent walk through Didi Digomi with my dog, Bella. This is number 0080. The dog in the picture is one of the neighbourhood dogs who is friendly with my dog and normally comes along with us when he sees us. I don't know if his 'owners' - using that word in a very loose sense - have a name for him. For the moment I call him Jaws since from some angles the shape of his muzzle reminds me of a shark.

I ♥ Yuna
A declaration in English - which seems to be the universal language of graffiti - on a wall in Did Digomi.

I can't tell you why but I love taking pictures of these little electricity sub-stations. They are all over the city and I come across them all the time. This one is - I think - in Gogebashvili Street and is particularly pleasing with the bright red doors. I took a few shots but preferred this one with the incidental pedestrian.

50 Metres
This old advertising sign, rusted and faded with time, stands on a corner of, I think, Gogebashvili Street. I'm not entirely sure what it is advertising but the theme of wine is prominent.

Urban Jungle
This is another shot taken from Barnov Street which runs on a bridge over these streets of apartment buildings. I noticed the tiered walkways first but then noticed the bare branches of the trees as I framed the shot. It almost got deleted in the first run through but then it grew on me.

This Old House
Vake is one of the more fashionable districts of Tbilisi but you don't have to go far off Chavchavadze Avenue or Abashidze Street to find yourself in a maze of meandering cobbles streets and laneways. This old house stands, I think, on Marukhis Gmirebi Street but I'm not entirely sure what street it was on. The house is still inhabited and I was greeted by a barking dog and an elderly woman a few moments after I took this shot.

Gas
Above ground gas pipes in the Didi Digomi neighbourhood. These pipes run all over the area and some look a little the worse for wear. I'm not sure if they are still in use but I can from time to time smell gas when passing set ups like the one in this image. There are more images from the neighbourhood at Photography by Olli.
