Faithful

The Kashveti church is in daily use. People were praying at the icons and lighting candles inside and a steady stream of people came and went while I was taking pictures. Most of the women were carrying head scarves with them which they put on before entering the church. Many others who were not going into the church stopped on the pavement and crossed themselves before walking on.

Sounds like the Philippines, except that most women don't bother with the head scarf nowadays.

Beautiful arches!

It's almost universal - and all the churches I have seen have supply of scarves for those who don't have one.

I was visiting one church yesterday where there was a wedding happening and noticed that some of the younger women who were all dressed up for the event weren't wearing them though all those taking part were.
