Vake is one of the more fashionable districts of Tbilisi but you don't have to go far off Chavchavadze Avenue or Abashidze Street to find yourself in a maze of meandering cobbles streets and laneways. This old house stands, I think, on Marukhis Gmirebi Street but I'm not entirely sure what street it was on. The house is still inhabited and I was greeted by a barking dog and an elderly woman a few moments after I took this shot.

I like the contrast between the old house and the more modern buildings behind it.
Thanks Emily. The newer buildings are going up all over this area and it's probably only a matter of time before old properties like this one disappear.
