Kashveti Church stands nearly opposite the Georgian parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue in the heart of the new town. In a city full of ancient churches Kashveti is relatively recent having been built between 1904 and 1910 though it stands on the site of an older church.

Wow - great to discover a new CDP blog from Georgia!
Looks like an interesting church - how about a look inside? Too dark for an interior photo?
Hi Leif. Nice to hear from you.
The interiors are very dark so without a flash or a tripod it would be difficult to get a shot.
I've also only been here a few weeks so I'm not sure yet of the etiquette of photographing inside churches.
If it happens I'll post it here.
